Chemical Management
Eu chemical requirementsOver the last decade, a series of different legislations and directives have been introduced within the European Economic Area (EEA) that are regulating the use, of a number of different substances in all kinds of semi-finished or consumer products, including their import in and marketing throughout the European supply chain.
The most recent and extensive bit of European legislation Registration, Evaluation and Authorization of Chemicals (REACH) was enforced since June 2007. On the other hand the recast of the RoHS (2002/95/EC) directive has been published on the 1st of July 2011 in the EUs Official Journal.
Without any doubt, one could say that global government has added an extra focus concerning protection of the environment and human health.
It is not only about the processes anymore : HOW an article is safely produced, packed, transported and how safe the general dimensions and cosmetics of the article are.
The focus now has shifted towards environmental impact and health of the (end) users.
This concept, is far beyond bringing your waste management in line, separating the several waste flows, or continuous improvement plans for your electrical usage in your production sites or carrying out another risk analysis on your processes.
Governments also want to address WHAT exactly is IN the products, more particularly used substances etc., so that a clear view is available of the exact environmental and health (and safety) impact.
Exitss can integrate these all these requirements into your daily business processes and make them a part of your ISO Quality System.
